Lots of coastal circuit sentencing talk

By Douglas A. Berman

ADVERTISEMENTS
Busy days and bigger issues have kept me from keeping up with all of this week's circuit sentencing law, but I did notice two recent rulings from the coasts that local folk will want to give a look: From the DC Circuit, US v. Brown, No. 03-3102 (DC Cir. Feb. 29, 2008) (available here). From the Ninth Circuit, US v. Barsumyan, No. 07-50251 (9th Cir. Feb. 28, 2008) (available here). There are some especialy interesting part of Barsumyan for anyone who has thought deeply about how the post-Booker world might have been constructed to look a lot different than it looks right now.
