Following the lead of my friend Kate Carruthers, I now post to my blog each Friday five real people I am recommending as part of #followfriday on Twitter.  I like this approach as it makes the #followfriday suggestions more personal and allows an opportunity for me to (briefly) explain why I am suggesting each person. 

One of the great things for me about Twitter is the community it generates.  And I have been lucky enough to see many of my Twitter friends becomes my friends in real life.  This has mainly come about as a result of BTUB, which is a where a group of Brisbane Twitter users come together to meet once a month.  As today is the last BTUB of the year, I thought my #followfriday suggestions this week would all be great people I have met through BTUB.

Today's #followfriday recommendations are:

@lexiphanic is one of the nicest guys I know.  He tweets about life, social media and the seemingly never-ending list of movies he sees with his lovely girlfriend, @shique.

@fanbloodytastic is one of many Twitter accounts maintained Anthony Dever (some of the others include  @anthonydever and brisneyland).  Although he works really long hours at BCM Brisbane, Anthony is a great guy who has an extraordinary passion for all things digital.

@michaelmeloni maintains one of my favourite blogs, Somebody Think of the Children, and is an all round great guy.

@cameronreilly is well known as the co-founder of The Podcast Network and as one of Australia's leading figures in the digital media space.  His tweets are entertaining, sometimes controversial, but never dull.

@definatalie is an artist and blogger whose zest for life is totally contagious.

There are so many more wonderful BTUB people I could have recommended, so I will have to do another BTUB themed #followfriday sometime soon.
