JG Wentworth/321 Henderson Rip Off Report

By John Darer

ADVERTISEMENTS

Just came across this about an Atlanta, GA based annuitant that claims they were screwed by JG Wentworth "Over and Over and Over". The Rip Off Report post speaks for itself. Click here for the report.

One ironic thing that I noticed is that Rip Off Report has embedded text links from Kontera Corporation. Such links are a phenomenon that I previously reported on where advertisers buy keywords that are embedded in web based text sometimes, embarrassingly for the site host. In the case I profiled, a foreign business directory company solicited listings from US businesses. Unfortunately for those businesses those with names that included key words that others (such factoring companies) had links to. The contextual link in the JG Wentworth Rip Off Report for "annuity payments" leads the reader to Peachtree Settlement Funding, whose profile also featured in the Rip Off report  (see #3 once you click the link) and makes my "WTF list" because of its continual public emphasis on on how much money it has raised in securitizations instead of what is good for tort victims, like young adults, the elderly and profoundly injured people in a time of need. Its consistently high discount rates are both unreasonable and have no relation to reality. They are purportedly still charging in the 19%+ range when others are often less than 50% of that!

Unless trial lawyers and financial planners STOP supporting Peachtree Settlement Funding there will continue to be a chance that their former clients will be taken advantage of with these high rates. For those who have no other alternative, Peachtree can be easily beaten via a factoring exchange.
