I have learned that the nominating committee has sent the following names to the governor to select one for the appointment to fill the Clayton vacancy in Jefferson Circuit Court:
- Charlie Cunningham
- Robert "Bob" Silverthorn
- W. Douglas Kemper
Those seeking the nomination must agree to accept the appointment, and all three of these have filed and are still in the race for the seat. Louie Geunthner is the fourth candidate.
N. George Shunnarah and Olu A. Stevens filed but have withdrawn.
All three have run for circuit court judgeships in prior elections.
