"Judge denies constitutionality motion," is the title of John Tompkins' report in today's issue of the Brazosport Facts.  His article is datelined Angleton, Texas.A Brazoria County judge on Thursday denied a motion from an accused murderer?s attorneys that claimed the state?s capital sentencing system is unconstitutional. Attorneys filed the motion on behalf of Nicholas-Michael Jean, 21, of Pearland. Jean faces a capital murder charge in the shooting death of Susana DeJesus, who was kidnapped from a Pearland shopping center parking lot on Feb. 2. Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against Jean.The motion was denied during a pretrial hearing on Thursday, when prosecutors and defense attorneys issued their motions in the case...continue to full post
