Faculty Blogs: 2009 Update of the 1994 Task Force Report on the Status of Women

I am pleased to let you know the Commission on the Status of Women (COSW) has finished its update of the 1994 Task Force Report on the Status of Women.   You can locate it at https://louisville.edu/cosw/task-force-report/task-force-report.html/.  This has been a multi-year project for the Commission and has involved the hard work of many people.  The Executive Committee members in particular (listed on page 7) have done an amazing job of compiling and analyzing all the data.   The update makes multiple recommendations on the topics of recruitment, retention, representation, campus climate and work-life issues.  The Executive Committee met with the President and Provost.  Both of them thanked the COSW and suggested ways to go forward with the report.  Already the Provost has met with me again to assign the recommendations and set timelines.  I will periodically use this blog to update the community on our progress.  The EC meets on September 11th for a retreat to discuss our goals and objectives for this year.
