Patent Law

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
? Work with in-house attorneys, patent agents, and with outside counsel in preparation and prosecution of patent applications
? Closely interact with Research & Development organizations to identify new inventions and devise strategies for patent protection
? Manage all aspects of large intellectual property estates in the areas of oncology, inflammatory and infectious disease; antibody and other polypeptide-based technologies
? Evaluate and monitor patent portfolios of third parties
? Provide IP and technical analysis in support of patent litigations
? Review and analyze license agreements and other contracts

Supervision:
Reports to Assistant General Counsel
Some supervision, but much independence

Education:
Attorney with a USPTO Reg. No.
Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related filed, or equivalent experience

Experience:
At least 4 years patent prosecution experience and several years of laboratory experience.
