And the Trials keep coming. . .

Well, after spending my first couple of months bitching about no-trial-dom, I am now swamped.  Officially.  Early on, I could have pulled the trigger on one case, but made the right call to depose a witness I had not yet spoken with.  After that, it was a long dry spell of near-misses, which lasted about 3 months.  I had sat down to pick juries 4 times, but nothing actually went to trial - the defendants got great last minute deals or the cases were nolle prossed or continued for odd reasons (we couldn't get a small jury out of the panel, or there was a discovery violation).  Other cases didn't go when clients didn't show up for court.However since then, it seems like everything is going.  On this past Monday, I went on a Sexual Battery case in another courtroom (6 counts sex bat, 6 counts Lewd and Lascivious)...continue to full post
