We haven't posted events here for a number of reasons, but one upcoming occasion merits special notice.
In Louisville on March 25, the Kentucky courts will sponsor Equal Treatment for All: Pursuing Diversity in Kentucky Courts.
Kentucky's AOC has been hard at work on diversity projects (including jury issues) for some time now. Sessions will focus on:
- Promoting diversity in the courts
- Procedural fairness
- Jury selection and diversity
- Court interpretation
- Educating the public about the benefits of diversity
- Recruiting minorities
The keynote will be Justice Carol W. Hunstein of the Georgia Supreme Court. Justice Hunstein will discuss diversity efforts in Georgia courts.
Contact for information: Bobbie Smith, AOC, 800-928-2350.
