Internet Video Policy Symposium: T Minus 33 Days

By Cynthia Brumfield

ADVERTISEMENTS

There's nothing like pulling together an interesting conference, going from zero to sixty, with less than 90 days preparation time, but I'm smack in the middle of doing just that. The Internet Video Policy Symposium is slated for March 19 and we (my partner is Reed Business) started work on this unique event little more than five weeks ago.

IVPS_logo.jpgIn what seems to me a minor miracle, the Symposium is shaping up to be a great event. We've got two impressive sponsors so far (both from the cable side of the fence although not intentionally so -- we are agnostic and want all kinds of sponsors) and a whole lot of government employees (particularly from the FCC) registered. A lot of people from the private sector have been clamoring to come and we may open up the Symposium to individual registrations as a consequence.

The best part, though, are the great speakers we've lined up. All very impressive, knowledgeable and influential old -- and new -- policy hands. The kind of experts who actually build regulatory systems from the ground up, or dismantle them from the top down. These guys (and they are all men but believe me I'm trying) are the ones that government leaders turn to when it's time to roll up the sleeves and start writing rules, laws and decisions.

Take and look at the speaker roster below and if anyone wants to find out more, drop me a line at cynthia at ipdemocracy.com. Have a great long weekend.
