: [ Useless Dicta ]The Calm Before the Storm
Crap.
That means tomorrow is July 1. That means that the big huge BARZAM label on my calendar is now staring me in the face. It means I have less than a month to put all of this crap together. It means that 4th of July weekend is actually here. It seems like an eternity ago all of us newly graduated JDs heard that July 4th weekend is where all of the s*it would hit the fan. Now it's literally here. Crap.
Strangely enough, the "crap" response, is not because I'm overwhelmed by the bar, not because I feel like I don't know what I'm doing, not because I feel like I'm going to fail, rather it's because I feel like I should be freaking out, like I should be more worried than I am at this point. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to take the bar and I know I have tons of work left. But I seem to have become the calm one of my group. Fashionista is about ready to lose it and I'm really worried about her, especially since she's pretty much all alone in her hometown studying by herself. Besides that, up to this point I've been the level headed one of the crew in Useless City, the one repeating the "it's going to be fine" mantra, the one not letting this damn exam get under my skin, it really is so unlike me. I usually freak out, I usually worry a lot, I usually doubt myself and work myself into an absolute frenzy before finally getting it together and putting my head back on straight. I'm starting to wonder what the hell is wrong with me, because this is arguably the biggest exam of my life and for the first time in my life I'm actually feeling fine.
I know that this could just be the calm before the storm. If that's the case, this could be one hell of a storm I'm about to face.
