Satire: "Matt Groening Sues Obama For Plagiarism"

By Lawrence B. Ebert, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS
See IMAO for full post, which ends:

For his part, Obama denied that any plagiarism took place, saying, ?Homer and I do trade ideas all the time, and you know he?s occasionally used lines of mine. Like that thing where he says ?Why you little!?? and starts strangling Bart? He TOTALLY got that from watching me & Biden.?

Also in the realm of plagiarism humor:

Until now. A new service, supposedly started as a joke, has now started to provide students with a new tool to pull one over on their teachers. Corrupted-Files.com provides corrupted Word, Excel, Powerpoint files to their clients for a low fee of $3.95 per paper. To what end? Turning in a file at the last possible moment usually leads to professors allowing additional time to get a paper turned in electronically - often enough time to allow the procrastinating student to finish the real thing.

Also in the realm of humor, from greeninc:

The orthodox view of intellectual property is that the establishment of clear legal protections for inventors spurs innovation and investment.

Not everyone agrees with that, however. As a policy analysis prepared last year by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development noted:

I.P. is potentially both an incentive and an obstacle to the transfer of technology. The exact role of I.P. in the transfer of climate-related technologies remains unclear. No comprehensive study has been conducted on the impact of I.P. rights in the different categories of climate-related technologies. Nevertheless, there are calls to address the possible adverse effects of I.P. on the transfer of climate-related technology.
