: novalawcityNew resources for free Federal caselaw
If you need to do Federal caselaw research cheaply, your options just expanded with two great new resources.
Justia.com is now offering free Courts of Appeals opinions from F 2d and F 3d back to 1950. You can browse by series, year, or circuit. The cases themselves are nicely laid out and easy to read.
The Public Library of Law offers free search engine that covers the following sources:
- Cases from the U.S. Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals
- Cases from all 50 states back to 1997
- Federal statutory law and codes from all 50 states
- Regulations, court rules, constitutions, and more!
Select the advanced search option to easily limit your results by jurisdiction and timeframe. Again, the cases themselves are nicely laid out. PLOL requires registration.
Both sites' cases hyperlink to other cases cited, where they are available.
Thanks to WisBlawg for the tips!
