: Lowering the BarJay Wexler's "Holy Hullabaloos" Book Published
By Kevin Underhill
Just a heads-up that Jay Wexler's book, "Holy Hullabaloos: A Road Trip to the Battlegrounds of the Church/State Wars," has been published. Jay is a professor at Boston University School of Law, who teaches a variety of classes, including on the topic of law and religion. He also writes some very funny stuff, such as his Green Bag article on the relative comedic status of U.S. Supreme Court justices, measured by how often the term "(laughter)" appears in the official transcripts following comments by the various justices. (The not-shocking results: Scalia is funniest, Thomas the least funny - or possibly just the quietest.)
The book has just been released, so I haven't read it yet, but based on Jay's prior work it is likely to be insightful, funny, and printed on good-quality paper, all excellent reasons to own it. You can get a copy on Amazon via Jay's website, thus augmenting his probably AIG-like professorial salary, or by clicking on the Amazon box to the left, thus causing a few additional coins to drop onto the vast dragon's hoard of wealth buried deep in my subterranean partner lair.
