Useless Book?

ADVERTISEMENTS
I've had quite a few ideas for blog posts pop into my head over the last year or so, but it seems I never get around to writing them. Whenever I get an idea and actually remember it long enough I jot it down on a post it or in a running stream of consciousness document I save on my computer. The list of ideas is getting quite long. I sat down this afternoon to try and see if I could tackle a couple of the ideas and it became very clear very fast that the posts were going to be far too long (and consume far too much time on my last weekend of freedom until after the bar exam). And that's when a really crazy idea hit me. Should I end up as another unemployed lawyer out there in the huge sea of other unemployed professionals come this fall, would it be totally crazy to try and write a book? I have no idea if the musings in my head translate well to paper, or whether anyone would actually care to read those musings, let alone if anyone would be insane or stupid enough to publish such a project. But it's an interesting and intriguing thought nonetheless. Such a project wouldn't be any thing remotely resembling academic work, I'm not talking thought provoking, deep intellectual well-researched argument here, and it might be a rather useful creative outlet. Perhaps I've had one too many glasses of wine tonight. At any rate, the idea is at least worth mulling over as I finish off this most excellent pinot grigio on this lovely summer night, insight, thoughts, and comments as always are more than welcome.
