: Atlanta Personal Injury LawyerJitterbug Cell Phones Recalled-May Not Call 911
By Jessica Smagacz
According to AP, Samsung is voluntarily recalling thousands of Jitterbug cell phones.
They are taking this action because of the possibility that the phones might refuse to make an emergency call when in a no-service area.
The Federal Communications Commission has made it law that any wireless phone must be able to reach a 911 call center even when in a no-service area or out of range. 'The device should be able to piggyback off another network in the area.'
Apparently, the company is contacting consumers who have the Jitterbug to schedule a free software upgrade.
If you have a Jitterbug and haven't received a call, call this number: 866-304-4980.
