Pool Fail

ADVERTISEMENTS
I'm not much of a summer person, I actually far prefer winter because I love skiing and actually don't really mind the snow except for when it creates big drama on the morning or evening commute. And to top it off I absolutely hate the heat, so anything above about 80 degrees and I start to get crabby. So unlike many of my barzam friends, I don't really have too much of a problem motivating myself to stay in the nice cool air conditioned indoors with my stack of barbri books. But the past few days in Useless City have been absolutely gorgeous, not too hot, not too cold, just perfect. So when I saw the maintence guys at my apartment complex moving brand new patio furniture out to the pool three days ago I was excited because there are several brand new BIG tables with umbrellas that could theoretically be used for a change of scenery in my summer studies. After all, a mix of shade, sun and some iced tea really does sound great right about now. Too bad this sign was taped to the elevator this morning as I ventured out to get my usual morning latte:
Pool and pool deck closed until further notice for code upgrades. Sorry for the inconvenience.

BOO
Apparently that whole open the pool by memorial day and keep it open until labor day isn't happening this year, knowing the managment at my apartment complex it'll probably be closed until after the 4th of July.

Speaking of the 4th of July (and on a totally different note), barbri MPT workshop dude basically told us yesterday that the month of June isn't really too bad, that you're typically learning stuff, doing problems, and feeling a little bit of stress but not overwhelmed. Apparently that usually changes 4th of July weekend, and that's when most people have the huge freakout, meltdown, hysterical crisis that turns them into the people we're all scared of being around during barzam season. Given that I've also heard this from a few of last summer's barzamers, I'm thinking I really should just schedule said freakout in my handy dandy planner so that I'm sure to have plenty of wine on hand when that weekend finally rolls around.
