PENDING: House Bill 478 to Remove Choice of Reserving Lost Wages.

By Michael Stevens

ADVERTISEMENTS

We previously posted remarks and concerns on a major revision of Kentucky's No Fault Law regarding the payment of personal injury protection benefits.  Rep. Gooch's bill has many features, all of which are signficant, and I simply addressed a few.

Ed Brutscher at the Kentucky Tort and Insurance Law Journal has jumped into the debate with his post entitled House Bill 478 to Remove Choice of Reserving Lost Wages.

My earlier post entitled Op-Ed: Call your Kentucky representative and voice your objection to HB 478 prompted his post.  Some ask me what is the value of blogging and is it journalism or what?  Well, timely and relevant debate of legal issues of the moment is not only journalism, but soap box rhetoric of the old school which minimizes back door political wheelin' and dealin'.

With timely updates and watchlists available at www.KentuckyVotes.org, a multitude of legal and political blogs, and writers who care about the topics and developments, then you cannot go wrong.  The ultimate resolution of the issue might not be what some would want, but it won't happen quietly and in the legislative vacuum only to surface at the conclusion of the session.

And with that comment in mind, a word to the wise to watch what political dealing will be required just to get the casino question on the ballot.
