Van Cliburn Piano Competition

By mcbride

Every four years Fort Worth hosts the Van Cliburn piano competition. We are now in the preliminary rounds. I have been able to attend some of these and the whole experience is wonderful.  Now you can listen and watch via your computer.  The sound quality is excellent ? so put on your good headphones and enjoy the show!  Here is a link: http://www.cliburn.tv/

You may need to install a player to watch, but on my machine, that installation process took about 3 minutes or less.  It is free. In particular, be sure to watch (well  listen to, his facial expressions take away from the music) Evqeni Bozhanov, a 25 year old man from Bulgaria.  His performance was a stand out.

Another outstanding performance was by Mariangla Vacavtello who is a 27 year old Italian woman.  Her style is lush.
