: Law Blog - WSJ.comThe Law Blog Press-Release Correction of the Day
By Ashby Jones
We here at the Law Blog occasionally get press releases sent our way. Less frequently, we’ll get a corrected press release sent as a follow up. Typically, we usually don’t make much hay about such a correction, partly because we, as regular LB Readers know, are hardly in the position to, uh, throw stones at those who make an occasional glitch.
But this correction that hit our desks this morning made us laugh out loud. It read:
A press release sent out earlier today about a complaint filed against the Halliburton Company and KBR, Inc. by the Policemen and Firemen Retirement System of Detroit, incorrectly identified former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger as defendants. In fact, neither Mr. Cheney nor Mr. Eagleburger are defendants in the case.
Yeah, probably worth the correction, we’d say.
