New Site Name Status

By David Packman

ADVERTISEMENTS
As the previous post mentioned, this site is going away... I'm shifting focus to national coverage and will not be covering Seattle area issues anymore.

So, it's time to change over to a new site with a new look and new name. That's where you come in.

In addition to looking for suggestions about where to host the site, what kind of setup to use, etc... I also want to hear everyone's suggestions on what to name the new effort.

So far the finalists are:
BrokenBlueWall (Broken Blue Wall)
UnjustForces (Unjust Forces)
InjusticeEverywhere (Injustice Everywhere)
NPMRP (National Police Misconduct Research Project)

And some late entries from the esteemed Karl Mansoor
NAPACT (National Police Accountability and Transparency project)
LEARProject (Law Enforcement Accountability Reform Project)
NALEM (National Law Enforcement Misconduct project)

(sorry if your suggestion isn't there, if it's not, the only reason it's not is that it was already registered.)

I'm leaving things open for more suggestions before I put the finalists up for a poll... The main criteria is that it must not be a currently registered .com or .org domain and it must, in some way, reflect the intention of the site.

Thanks again for all the help so far, I'm looking forward to closing one dismal chapter and opening up a great new one!

UPDATE: Well, a couple of problems... first, since I only have $13 to spend (thank you to the two people who donated over the weekend!) I'm going to stick with a Blogger site for now (free) so I can afford to purchase at least one domain name ($10).

The name is tricky, so I think I'm not going to get any more valid candidates (under 20 chars, not registered already, reflects what the site is about). Therefore I'm putting up a poll now with a day deadline. Sorry, I'm eager to get this started.

It will take a lot of effort and a while to create the new site so I'll be limited to just updating the twitter feed until everything is finished for the move... hopefully it will be more successful than this site was, though I'm sure it will be slow at first.

Thanks!
