Back in the Saddle

Today Dan and Becca took me out for Mother's Day pancakes, at my request. I have a weird thing about not liking to go out to eat for a holiday ON that holiday because I am convinced the crush of people will make me annoyed, so we went today. Then we stopped by the library where Dan read Becca a few books, and then they left me alone with my laptop, also at my request. The anthology got me sort of fired up again, and I wanted to go with it. So for the first time in...oh my god, months, maybe a year: I wrote fiction. Ack.

The hardest part is trying not to get ahead of it. What is it? A novel, a story? Does it suck? I'm refusing to answer any of that. I had a little idea, and I'm just going to spend a few Saturdays writing, and that's it. I forgot how satisfying it is to roll over that page break and keep going. So I'll just do that.
