: Legal Pad | LASupergraphics stay while case is still live, says Collins
By Richard Binder
U.S. District Judge Audrey Collins has issued a temporary injunction barring the city of Los Angeles from taking action against SkyTag's supergraphics (multistory images) on at least 18 buildings while the case goes ahead in court.
Five of the buildings are on the Westside and six are in Hollywood. At least five are owned by Jamison Properties, a plaintiff in the lawsuit with SkyTag.
At least four are owned by CIM Group, who received approval from the City Council in November to place three supergraphics on the building but erected six instead. CIM Group took down the three unpermitted supergraphics following an outcry from the Community Redevelopment Agency's board, among others.
SkyTag has argued that the 18 billboards were installed before Dec. 26, when the city's temporary sign ban went into effect.
