Grades

By NoReinsGirl

ADVERTISEMENTS
Dear Law School Profs:

Your insistence on my timely awareness during class term is appreciated and understood. However, this cuts both ways. If I am told "professors have four weeks in which to post grades" I fully expect said grades to appear magically at the agreed upon location (mailboxes) in said timeframe. When they do not appear in the agreed upon location and timeframe it does not make me warm and fuzzy about my need to meet your artificially set deadlines. Let me be clear about this...either practice what you preach or chill out. Not both. I am not kind when I am screwed with mentally. Especially when I am waiting for important things, namely my grades.

Law school is a pressure cooker. Understood. Work is the same way. While I understand that you and I both work full-time it would be considerate if you take grading as seriously as I take going to law school. Meaning - much gets thrown to the backburner during said term. So, let's work on grading exams in a shorter time frame than "longer than the agreed upon time", just as I bust my cookies while in school. Holding my breath for an extended period of time is not enjoyable. Nor is it beneficial to you.

So...I passed. I am pleased with said grades.

This means I will have the dubious honour of defending (yes, defending) a case at some point in future. I have been and continue to be told that I am a force with which to be reckoned. I now wait with breathless anticipation that I will defend in court against you. You've trained me. It will be with great pleasure that I match wit and talent against you.

Consider yourself on notice, Counselor(s).
