Google has a bunch of smart answers that they plunk at the top of the results page. They call ‘em “Everyday Essentials“. Wanna know the weather in International Falls, Minnesota? Boom … it’s right at the top of the results. Need to track a flight? Bam … no need to scroll down the page. Can’t figure out the tip for your pricey dinner for 2? Pow … instant answer.
On Tuesday they added another one: Google profiles for name searches. As if they didn’t already know enough about you, they want you to go here and enter your personal info. Which I did. So now if you search for dan giancaterino, you’ll see my brand spanking new Google profile. Buried at the bottom of the page.
If only they had put it at the top, I’d finally feel like I was a smart answer for something.
