US News Law Rankings 2010 Start to Leak: Fordham Ranked Third in Evening Programs

By propertyprof

ADVERTISEMENTS

We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the US News rankings in the faculty lounge.  Whether this purported scan of the 2010 rankings is real or a hoax, (it's also available at the Critical Badger), we're beginning to see some of the rankings.  Fordham Law School has just posted a press release touting its evening program, which is ranked third by US News.

And just to satisfy your appetite for rankings, you might enjoy my paper on the relationship between law review citations and law school rankings.  If you're a real rankings junkie, here's another brief paper that looks to citations to secondary journals to help further refine law school rankings.  Of course, there's a lot of variance between articles in a journal in terms of citations.  Lots of top journals publish articles that aren't well cited and vice versa, as this paper shows with a long-term study of citations to articles in about a dozen well-regarded reviews.

Update: I've just realized that Paul Caron blogged about the top five evening law programs on Thursday.  They are Georgetown, GW, Fordham, American, and George Mason.  Lots of Washingtonians.  Caron linked to abovethelaw.
