: Online Guide to MediationAnother round-up of articles for negotiators, ADR professionals
By Diane Levin
Since February I’ve been microblogging at Twitter, a social media tool ( and recently sharing my experiences and lessons learned).
As I’ve come to appreciate, Twitter can be a great way to keep your ear to the ground and gain access to the latest news and ideas that the world is discussing.
As I’ve done in the past for non-Twittering readers of Mediation Channel, I’ve pulled together a sampling of articles I’ve recently passed along to my followers on Twitter.
- When empathy is in the lesson plan for middle school students
- Teaching social literacy and emotional intelligence a good idea say some, but critics cautious
- Unstructured play helps children master skills like negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision making
- A fresh look at King Solomon’s dilemma through the lens of behavioral economics
- Unsurprisingly, children the biggest losers in family court in pitched battle between parents
- Recession creates rise in bargaining as consumers negotiate
- Interesting paper (in PDF) on “Misconception of Plaintiffs’ Litigation Aims“, of interest to mediators in civil cases (with a hat tip to Alasdair Reed)
- The economics of ADR
- What magic can teach us about the brain
- Are experts over-rated?
- Can Homer Simpson solve the crisis in the Middle East?
