Today I *almost* got a 4th amendment suppression motion granted on our only trial case that remained.  The judge has reserved ruling pending some further research.  (It's actually a very interesting issue, which I will surely fail to elucidate here, on the blog, later on, as I will be on to something else by whatever time it is I could revisit the issue and say something cogent about it.)  Yep, that's almost a parseable sentence.  I blame the low-grade fever, for which in turn I blame the flu, which I have had for several days now.  It started up on Friday, left me prostrate on Sat., settled into a uneasy truce involving slow walking and moderate thinking on Sun., and is now just aches, pains, dull legal arguments, and the occasional discharge, courtesy the various mucosae...continue to full post
