A Dallas-area jury has awarded $17.5 million to a man who lost his arms and legs to an MRSA infection. In the ruling, jurors found that a Doctor was negligent for medical malpractice in treating the man following a 2003 surgical procedure. State medical malpractice caps limit the total award to $7.5 million. An attorney for the Doctor said they plan to appeal the verdict.
