Sometimes it's just good to take it back to the old school. Here's what Chief Justice John Marshall had to say about the importance of the civil justice system, quoted from his opinion in Marbury v. Madison, (5 U.S. 137, 163 (1803)): "The very essence of civil liberty certainly consists in the rights of every individual to claim the protection of the law, whenever he receives an injury."
