One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other

By "Daisy Duke"

ADVERTISEMENTS
I have a few topics to discuss tonight so here we go. First. Let's talk about grammar.

I don't want to harp on this or seem irked but rather I just want to say, I love my readers- but if my grammar, my topics, or anything else bother you, please, spend your time reading elsewhere. I'm aware I use too many commas. I switch tenses. I misplace apostrophe's. If grammar is your thing, check out The Grammar Girl. If my quirky self is your thing, come, love, enjoy, comment. You can tell me my grammar has an error in it.....but don't expect me to change it. I'm only one person & so I have the brain power to be witty (or not, depending on how you feel about this place) or to be grammatically perfect. And frankly, after spending the last 7 years watching my grammar in school + the infinite number of years I'm going to watch my grammar while practicing law....this blog is not the place where practice makes perfect. I'm sure a therapist would tell me this means I'm lazy or have deep anger towards my 3rd grade English teacher...but...ehhhh...I wasn't an English major for a reason & I took AP Literature and not AP Composition for the same one.

Second, an award! Woo!

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Thank you thank you to the Preppy Princess who bestowed this darling honor on me. Now to pass it along...well I have a confession to make. I think that I've been giving my awards to the same old same old. This is because,  I give them to the blog authors that I enjoy reading, but also to blog readers who I know stop by these parts so they can actually...you know...receive the award.  While there are many more blogs I admire, I somehow doubt Dooce or Moosh In Indy is going to pop in here to accept, making my giving it to either of them akin to when the Academy Award is accepted in absentee by the person who read the winners card because, you know, the winner was off doing much cooler things. Like filming a movie way way cooler than the one he/she won the Academy Award for.

So. Instead. The first 8 people who comment & have a blog that isn't linked on here, I shall bestow this award on you. This is a way for me & my readers to find some fun new blogs. And I'm promoting shameless self promotion. So! Comment away!

Third. Go forth & win something pretty. The Preppy Princess is giving away Lilly Pulitzer stationery, so please, go enter for your chance to win! Who doesn't love a little Lilly in their life?
