LAPD Brutality Lawsuit Settles for $13 Million

By Greg Owen

ADVERTISEMENTS

The police brutality victims part of a class action lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department's Metro Division settled on Wednesday for $13 million.

Officers allegedly used batons and rubber bullets to disperse a 2007 May Day peaceful immigration demonstration. The $13 million settlement will cover most of the 300 claimants whom allege that police used excessive force in MacArthur Park on the day of the protest.

Additional lawsuits outside of the class action suit are pending.
