Mama Duke is safely back in Utah (skiing I'm sure, the lucky duck) and I'm sort of sitting around blinking going "Whaa?" because it was a lovely trip but it was a whirlwind trip, all the while the winds were swirling around Chicago (Why yes, it was a high of eleven degrees today) and we were finding ourselves walking! everywhere! in the wind! and now I'm just tired and content and want to snuggle up into my couch and not move for awhile. Which is lucky because I have some episodes of The Bachelor to catch up on. (What? Roots isn't on TV this month, ok? The Bachelor is all I've got. That and a bottle of wine. Pick your poison.)

BISMOW is out of town "on business" which sounds so grownup but really just means he is in Southern Illinois, and while I'm all about The South I'm not all about Southern Illinois. I don't want to offend anyone but, um, dude. It is cold down there and you do not have Michigan Avenue, the lake, or the great sushi restaurant by my house to make it better. And so, please note, Southern Illinois is not on my top vacation spots. Or anything spots other than my "please avoid" list.

But anyway. He is gone, on business, so I'm going to sit on the couch or perhaps in bed and snuggle into my down comforter and watch said television on my laptop (do you hear the heavens parting and the trumpets- because that is what happened when someone invented tv online) and I will tell BISMOW I love him and I miss him but in reality? I'm thinking that my oversized t-shirt and Chicago Cubs ankle socks and my tv while wearing a face mask ALL WHILE IN MY BED is pretty awesome.

Unless my Mom wants to come back and buy me some more sushi and books to read. In which case, I'm up for another day of sightseeing! In the cold!
