: New York Supreme Court Criminal Term LibraryGoogle And Its Impact On Books
By David Badertscher, PLL
A recent New York Times article, "Some Fear Google?s Power in Digital Books" by Noam Cohen details the Google book scanning project. It briefly touches upon some of the major issues in the digitization project that involve centralization and control over large bodies of information as well as copyright issues. The New York Times article references a more extensive article on the subject by Professor Robert Darnton (the head of the Harvard Library system) that is entitled "Google & the Future of Books."
