: IBLS Internet Law BlogIs it legal for an Internet company to change e-mails to contact consumers?
By IBLS Editor
Hi I am currently in a dispute with a travel company regarding flights booked with them. In summary, they sent me confirmation after booking through internet using a legitimate company email i.e. employee_name@company_name.com and then any updates to flight time amendments they contacted me with email account from a public server i.e. employee_name@yahoo.com? Is this legal to do so? The reason I ask is because they tried to contact me with regards to change of flight times and my email spam filter deemed it as junk mail. The legitimate email was stored as friendly but the latter wasn't. This problem would not have occurred if legitimate company email had been used. Any advice would be much appreciated. Even if it's a simple 'you don't have a case'. Many thanks,
Andrew
