Lots of police behaving badly and one funny appellate lawyer

We don’t really need to be reminded that cops all too often are criminals, but in case you were forgetting: A Chicago cop is accused of lying about information they said came from a “confidential informant.” The lie formed the basis for the arrest of Anthony Hernandez who was held for six months before the charges were dismissed.  Another Chicago cop admitted he beat a handcuffed man in a wheelchair. It’s on video. Two transit police in San Francisco are apparently involved in beating and then shooting a man in a BART station. Also on video. A Chicago cop partnered up with a 14-year-old boy who was wearing a uniform and patrolled that fine city for about five hours before anyone realized he wasn’t really a cop...continue to full post
