Washington, DC: It is of little comfort to anyone with a medical device that the federal authority charged with husbanding medical devices for safety—the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)—has been so lax in updating rules that ensure their safety. Medical drugs, it should be noted, combine to a similar frustration. Little wonder that a failing medical device, once the health crisis has passed, is almost always followed by a call to a medical negligence attorney.
