Texas kills

From local media: Frank Moore insisted until the very end that he fatally shot two men 15 years ago in self-defense. “Self-defense is not capital murder,” the 47-year-old said from the death chamber gurney, the Associated Press reported. At 6:21 p.m. Wednesday, Moore became the second prisoner executed this year in Texas. Moore was convicted of fatally shooting Samuel Boyd, 23, and Patrick Clark, 15, outside a bar following an altercation. He claimed the men tried to run him down in their car. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected appeals that sought a reprieve about an hour before the scheduled execution, the AP reported. The third execution of the year is scheduled for today and three more are schedule for next week.
