There are a lot of things that I don't want to do these days. With this job hunt being a mind-numbing experiment in "awful" I find myself without a lot of motivation these days. Laundry? Don't wanna. Wash my hair every day? Don't wanna. Clean the floors? I really don't wanna. (Ok that is nothing new.) Even writing a blog post, I find myself thinking "but...I don't wanna" and then I sit back on the couch to scour the job listings yet again. I think I'm going through a little post-employment blues if you will. But, alas, La-a is coming tomorrow and she deserves clean towels & linens. So I shall in fact do some laundry and clean my floors. I'm really looking forward to this weekend & I hope that it contains some much needed rejuvenation time. And, well, I have a menu planned...lets discuss:

Friday night: Katie gets in late so I'm thinking of some sort of snack. I can't decide what snack though. Help me people. Help me. Brie and crackers? Pigs in a blanket? Grilled cheese and tomato soup?

Saturday night: I'm whipping up my pork tenderloin, steamed veggies & goat cheese mashed potatoes. Then the Chicago blogger contingency is coming over and I happen to know that there is some cake in the works (Artful & Melissa are concocting two very different & very delicious recipes) and I'm thinking about making a batch of brownies. And of course wine. Lots of wine.

Sunday morning: Chocolate chip pancakes with homemade whipped cream. Have you ever made homemade whipped cream? If not, you are missing out. It is divine. Delicious. Makes your toes tingle. I can post an easy recipe for homemade whipped cream if any of you are interested....

And today I figured I should respond to some comments that needed answers:

1. Freefaller: Nope, BISMOW doesn't get mad when I talk about ex's. This is because before we dated we were very close friends who told each other quite a bit....so the cat is out of the bag so to speak. That and he knows that as gooby as it might sound, I'm madly, head over heels in looooove with him. So I'm not going anywhere.

2. Quite some time ago, a reader asked for dutch oven recipes. I've been working on a few, but I recently made The Pioneer Woman's Pot Roast with great success in my very own Le Creuset dutch oven, given to me by the one & only Law With Grace. BISMOW and I both enjoyed it More to come!

3. Chela, welcome back. Has that bundle of joy arrived? Because when it does, there must be photos shared. Just saying.

4. Wow we all have a lot of ex's floating around in the universe, some which sound like very nice people & others that sound like complete morons. For those of you with moron ex's, would it make you feel better if I told you why I broke up with Army Boy? I'll tell you why....I was sick, on the bathroom floor & emerged for a glass of ginger ale and saw Army Boy & my best friend from high school (who was visiting me at the time) engaged in, ahem.... intimate activity. I took her to the airport a day early (how she got home is beyond me) and didn't speak to him for a week before I ended it. (During that week he had the audacity to leave a voicemail and ask if his ex girlfriend, who was in town visiting, could borrow my ID to go out for a few cocktails with him as she was underage.) But I let him stew. And then broke his heart. And when he came crawling back two months later, I broke it again. She had the audacity to show up at my parents house on my birthday that year, bearing gifts. I politely invited her in and then ushered her out a few minutes later after forced civility. The gift? Lingerie. Some ladies are just classless. Classless I tell you.

And so ends todays post of random.
