As far as girls and sports go, I think I do fairly well. I love college football. Hockey is exciting. A summer afternoon spent at a baseball stadium is one of the best ways to pass the day. I try to understand the rules & the traditions- and just the other day I turned to BISMOW mid-football game and exclaimed "Holy Crap! Did Utah just run a hook and ladder? That was beautiful!" So yeah. I try to be a good sports fan, and for the most part, I think I manage to hold my own. Unfortunately, I forgot to factor in cruel parents with twisted senses of humour. Earlier today I was browsing the headlines and saw the sports headline that the "Chicago Cubs sign 3 year deal with Milton Bradley." Fascinating, no? I immediately began thinking of how I wanted my very own Chicago Cubs commemorative Monopoly game. Of course Park Place would be Wrigley Field. Perhaps the silly purple squares would be the bars around the stadium, and the yellow ones would be the streets surrounding Wrigley. At least one of the metal figurines had to be Harry Caray's glasses or perhaps instead, a holey cow? And a hot dog figurine, that is what I would want to be when I played. Definitely the ball park hot dog.
Except apparently Milton Bradley is a baseball *player*.
Which I am sorry, but come on...who names their kid Milton with a last name of Bradley? Idiots I say. Really. Big. Idiots. Or at least a father filling out a birth certificate without the Mom being present. Either way...not my fault I think. Not my fault at all.
(Oh come on...how cool would a Chicago Cubs Monopoly game be?!)
(And seriously, a kid named Milton Bradley is the equivalent of naming your kid Sara Lee or Ralph Lauren.)
