ADVERTISEMENTS
In my opinion, 2009 is already looking a little brighter. First I changed my blog template (if you didn't notice, you might want to get your eyes checked) so thanks to everyone who commented positively. If you don't like it, alas I apologize. I'm not changing it, but I'm sorry it bothers you. Myself, I find it sort of bright & fun. And city-like and lets face it, I'm just a transplanted Southern gal in a big city. I have to embrace it. The new template also caused me to lose all my comments on posts that I had used a "comment program" on, which has been for probably the last 6 months. I can read the comments if I log into my "comment program" account but I have yet to figure out how or if I can bring them back. I suppose that is just how the cookie crumbles. 2009 started off with the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field. If you haven't heard of it that is because you live in California or don't follow, um, I don't know, sports greatness. The Winter Classic is an outdoor match up of two storied rivalries in the NHL. This year they converted Wrigley Field, home of my beloved Cubs, to an outdoor hockey arena. It was awesome. The hometown Chicago Blackhawks played BISMOW's hometown Detroit Red Wings. Our seats were awesome. It was also pretty freaking freezing, but totally worth it. (Even though I left my long-johns at my parents ski place and had to borrow a pair of boys long-john's from BISMOW. Say it with me- ewwww.) The tickets were given to us by a wonderful gentleman who felt we needed some cheering up with whole "job conundrum". As luck would have it, we sat next to a legal recruiter who we chatted with, and he offered to engage his legion of legal recruiting friends to help me find a job. I don't know what the odds are of that, but I'm taking it as a sign of an upward swing. That and the Red Wings won, which was fairly....say it with me....awesome.
