Merry, merry, merry.

ADVERTISEMENTS
I had a snow day on Friday, December 19th. It was a perfect illustration of how my new workplace values its employees over the almighty Must Put In Forty Hours Or Turn Into A Toad attitude of most employers. Also, it was really nice to be able to stay home and bake cookies.

So stay home and bake we did. Then that night we made chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and watched too much Food Network, and went to bed early. It was fantastic.

This week has been... odd. Kira got her tail caught in a door at my in-laws' house on xmas eve, so had to have emergency surgery that night. So that night was stressful, and then we picked her up at 8:30 on xmas day. Since then, we have been giving her antibiotics and pain killers and trying to keep her calm so she doesn't dislodge her stitches and bleed all over the place. This morning, we failed and had to take her to the vet to have the bandages redone. Oy. I will be really, really happy when this one is all over.

Other than that, our christmas was pretty good - we ate way, way too much. We got a GPS, which will be great for this summer's road trips. Kira is going to be fine, and the vet has assured us that she will not remember this at all. I still cannot find anything to complain about at my job.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2009, for everyone in the whole big world.
