Young Man Dies in Drunk Driving Accident in Sacramento

The Christmas season is a time of celebration. Unfortunately, for some this means drinking large quantities of alcohol and then getting behind the wheel to drive from Christmas party to Christmas party. Last weekend, there were six drunk driving arrests and one DUI related fatality in Placer County near Sacramento, CA.

Regarding the fatality, Sacto 9-1-1 reported:

Brandon Mitchell Keith, 20, died early Saturday at Sutter Roseville Medical Center after the car he was riding in crashed into a tree. The 19-year-old driver, Brandon M. Moreno, of Roseville, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Another passenger in Moreno's vehicle suffered minor injuries while a third passenger emerged uninjured.

Because of the rise of drunk driving during this time of year, 50 police forces throughout California have set up sobriety checkpoints at high risk areas.
