Shut Up And Kiss Me

ADVERTISEMENTS

As we head out for an extended weekend out-of-state to care for the in-laws, I need to stoke up on some rock-bottom "Texasness." Here's a video of a song by Austin's own red-headed stranger, Willie (Hemp-Fest) Nelson. The song was written by Rob Thomas for his wife. Rob plays the bartender in the video. Among other Texas connections: (1) The video was shot in Austin. (2) The lead actor, the guy with the toothpick in his mouth, is Dallas native and actor Luke Wilson. (3) Willie's backup band is Los Lonely Boys. (4) The model with the show-stopping moves and form is Almudena Fernandez (technically, she's Spanish, but, then, so's at least half of Texas).

I realize that "The Decider" has tarnished the reputation of Texas with a portion of Blue State America. I don't really care about that prejudice. I've lived in a number of places, and I'm ecstatic that I ended up a Texan.

Ya'll have a great weekend. And on those videocodezone.com videos? You play them by clicking on the little arrow. Simple enough.
