Daisy: Hi, I'd like to make an appointment, hopefully for today. I've been sick for the past three days, and I have a history of stomach problems since college, so I'd like to get it checked out. My work won't let me come in until I'm cleared.
Appointment Lady: Mmm ok. How about tomorrow, Saturday? And lets see, you are a student, correct?
Daisy: No, I'm a lawyer now. I have new insurance. I'll bring the card tomorrow.
AL: Oh now, I need to verify that we accept your insurance.
Daisy: Well my card isn't right here. (Read: I'm sick and in bed and there is no way in hell I'm dragging myself to the living room, finding my purse, and my wallet, and my health insurance card inside.) But I think it is through Very Well Known Insurance Company.
AL: Well I need to verify that you have the PPO and not the HMO. And what is the name of your law firm?
Daisy: No, I have PPO. I work for The Firm. (Read: I cover doctors and nurses asses all day every day. So cut me slack, I can assure you I have PPO.)
AL: Well I'm still going to need you to look at your card and verify you have PPO and not HMO. (Read: Your file no longer indicates you work for BPLF and thus you no longer have complete and total control at any appointment because we are scared you will sue us.)
Daisy: *groans audibly when moving around* Yes. Yes. I have a freaking PPO. Like I told you. Because you know, I pay for it every month, and I'm quite sure I pay for PPO and NOT and HMO. But thank you for making me move, and thus, making my stomach hurt.
