How the troubled economy is affecting divorce.

In most divorce cases involving real property, the house is promptly sold, any equity is divided between the parties, and the former husband and wife move on with their individual lives. However, with the present troubled economy and depressed housing market, more and more divorcing couples are continuing to live under the same roof after their divorce has been filed and often after their divorce has been granted. What’s more, many couples whose marriage is on the rocks and who intend to divorce are delaying filing for divorce because of the negative financial effects that divorce is sure to bring.
