Whew. I'm stuffed. Yesterday's turkey-day extravaganza was nothing short of spectacular- shrimp salad, fried oysters, sweet potato souffle, mashed potatoes with gravy, prime rib with horseradish sauce, all topped with cheesecake. Sigh. It was delicious & the only meal I could eat all day. Today our turkey is in the oven, the green bean casserole is cooling & the gravy is simmering on the stove. Delicious. Grandma poured everyone a Makers Mark mint julep over crushed ice into her silver tumblers & football is being watched by all.

The thought of having to eat again is making me a little green...but alas, it is the season of food & calories & all things delicious.

In the meantime, I'm finishing up Stuart Wood's Chiefs, and I hope you are too. The next book is going to be announced next week, and your thoughts on Chiefs are due by December 10th. Also, February & March are open months for selecting a book...so if you have a good one in mind, let me know. Finally, don't forget to send in your favorite holiday recipe(s) in the next few weeks so I can cook, photograph & share.
