: Peanut Butter BurritoTurkey-Free Menu
By Andrea
On a lighter note, today at our staff meeting talk turned to our Thanksgiving plans and if anyone was going to eat anything out of the ordinary (several staff members are eating their family's ethnic food on top of the usual fare.) When I said I was vegetarian, the first question, of course was, "Are you eating Tofurkey?" Eh. But here's our plan for our first T-Day away from my family in California in several years, and our first as a family of three:
Home-grilled shrimp cocktail, a traditional favorite of the Pilgrims
Lightlife faux chicken cordon bleu stuffers (pretty darn good)
Ludicrously large pot of garlic mashed potatoes
Store-bought canned cranberry sauce (Dan will have no other)
Corn on the cob with butter and chili powder
Sauteed green beans with slivered almonds
And probably some pie and wine. Why not?
Becca will partake of the potatoes and green beans, and probably enjoy herself greatly. Now of course, that's way, way too much food for two people for one meal, so we'll make it at lunchtime and just eat until it's gone, be that Saturday or 8 pm that night. I'd be a lot more relaxed if I didn't have a large application due in court next Tuesday, but I still think it'll be nice to have a long weekend with my two favorite people and a lot of potatoes.
