Annoyed

ADVERTISEMENTS
I'm trying my best not to be stressed out, although my procrastination habits are inevitably leading down the road of major stress that will define the next 4 weeks between now and the end of the Fall semester. Despite that, I'm also trying my best to not be annoyed at people because I realize that most of my annoyance is probably fueled by my own stress, and it's not fair to project that onto other innocent bystanders. That being said, if I'm in the journal office, with books open, hot coffee, wearing headphones (and I'm sure the blaring music is bleading out into the outside world) while looking at my computer and typing furiously it means that I'm busy and most likely for the first time in 15 weeks I'm actually accomplishing something that's not maxing out my credit card while expanding my winter wardrobe. So when my good law school friend (probably my best law school friend) comes in and sees me in this state I would expect her to smile/nod/etc, maybe ask how I'm doing, as I polietly slip off one headphone to have a brief conversation, and then leave me alone to go back to my work. BUT NO.

Today I spent a good 3 hours frantically trying to get my friend to SHUT THE HELL UP. I even told her that I didn't have time to talk, was really sorry and would catch up with her later, etc. She just couldn't take it. I would get 5 minutes of work done before she would start in on the talking again, I would take a headphone off to hear what she said, then 20 minutes later I would finally weave the conversation back to a point where I could again put the headphones back on and go to work, I'd get another 5 minutes done and the cycle would start ALL OVER.

NEWS FLASH: just because best law school friend finished 1 paper, is done with a final trial and only has 2 exams left to worry about DOES NOT MEAN the rest of us (namely me) have time to waste 3 hours conversing about various thing. UGH!!!

So after trying very hard not to translate my stress into annoyance and frustration aimed at other people, today was just too much for me, I'm totally annoyed and very frankly kind of mad at my friend.

I hate finals. I don't like how finals makes everyone else act and I really hate the way I feel/act when finals roll around. If finals in law school are this exhausting/tiring/stressful I don't want to know what this summer of bar prep will bring. Makes me want to vomit just thinking about it...
