Texas executed Denard Manns last night in Huntsville.  It was the 17th execution of 2008; the 422nd in the state since 1982.  Three more executions are scheduled in Texas next week on consecutive nights.AP has this report on Denard Manns. Texas has by far the most active death chamber in the United States accounting for more than 37% of all the executions in America. Texas has carried out more than half of the executions in the America during 2008.  Mann's was the 33rd execution in the nation this year, the 1,132nd since 1977.Capital Defense Weekly lists three scheduled executions in other states next week, and an additional three executions in states other than Texas during December.  Though Texas does not have any scheduled executions during the month of December, seven executions are already scheduled in the state for 2009...continue to full post
